NEUROFEEDBACK HAS BEEN PROVEN TO BE EFFECTIVE IN HELPING WITH DIFFICULTIES INCLUDING INSOMNIA, ADHD, ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, AND PTSD.
TREATMENT IS GUIDED BY OUR CLINICAL WORK AS WELL AS A QEEG BRAIN MAP THAT SHOWS HOW YOUR BRAIN COULD BE WORKING MORE OPTIMALLY.

Why It Works:
We know that certain parts of the brain manage anxiety, depression, ability to focus, "fight & flight" states versus "rest and digest" states. We also know what types of brainwaves are produced in those areas of the brain when things are working well. By looking at a QEEG brain map and evaluating what is happening in the brain that is likely linked to your symptoms, we can use neurofeedback to train your brain to work more optimally and decrease the symptoms you are wanting to address. It's like physical therapy for brain.
The Process:
During neurofeedback treatment, you will wear a cap (similar to a swim cap) with sensors that are placed in specific locations on your scalp. These sensors read the brainwaves being produced in those locations. The cap is blue-toothed to your phone or tablet where you will watch a video. When your brain is approaching the desired brainwave patterns the video will be bright and the sound will be loud. When your brain is not producing the desired brainwave patterns, the video will become dim and the sound will get quiet. Because our brain naturally wants to hear and see the video, after some trial and error, your brain will actually learn to produce the proper brainwave patterns. With enough repatition, the brain will learn to access those patterns as needed and training sessions will no longer be necessary.
Specific Symptoms / Integrated Trauma Treatment:
In general, inefficiencies in our brain function are the result of over or underarousal in certain areas of our brains. If we are using neurofeedback to address specific symptoms like insomnia, anxiety, attention, etc. we will be focusing on balancing nervous system arousal levels, helping the different parts of your brain work together as appropriate, and training specific areas where your brain map shows evidence that symptoms are linked to brain activity. We can also use neurofeedback to enhance the effectiveness of trauma therapy. With a calm nervous system it is dramatically easier to process trauma without feeling overwhelmed. This involves a three phased approach: Calming the nervous system and the body, addressing specific brainwave patterns that are linked to symptoms, and then calming the brain while activating trauma memories so that they can be effectively processed and released.
